I had an Egg card when I was 18, did all the billing and stuff online. Was quite good. If you're worried about the limits etc then ring them up (if you're accepted) and get it changed.
I'm never using a credit card again though

Im 19. I got a credit card with my bank when i was 18 and my apr was 27.9. I now have a platinum card at 14% , my advice is get one..buy a couple of things and pay it off straight away to get a credit rating. Then maybe when you 19/20 apply for a better one. The more u apply for and get turned down it looks bad on your credit report. and trust me at 18 u will get turned down.

First card, HSBC, 6k limit for first card but I'am 24 with mortgage etc. I only got it as I needed to pay for some bits for car and didn't have the money for couple months. Long as you don't go spastic with it and can pay it off within the 0% time limit then theres no harm.
Also keep getting Sky etc and every other bastard offering 0% cards upto 10k limits etc through the door, no wonder so many people are going bust

I still cant get a phone on contract and i have a platinum credit card...strange. Mark got me one in his name. The trick is they will throw more money at you if you are in debt quite abit already

i got my first at 18, £500 limit, 21 now and have 3, dont use them, just pay for petrol occasionally and pay it off straight away.
Like people said there only bad if your a retard who goes out and spends money they really don't have or cant afford to pay back.
