G4RRL just done a quick shop to what it could look like,



Not sure if i'm going to put it on the 306, anyone know what actually happens if you write the car off with the plate, asked her on teleales she said she was pretty sure you didn't lose the plate but wasn't sure on the precedure.

you could lose the plate if its written off with the car....

all you do is put the plate on retention before they write the car off. did this with my first corsa.

plate looks good though mate

Nice one, so if you had an accident you just phone up ASAP and put it on retention then? do you say because you have written the car off or would they stop you doing it if they knew thats why you was doing it?

500 off DVLA site. THere are similiar ones valued at silly money so though i'd get it now, with the possibility of making some money on it in the future. Worth the risk i reckon. My bro's neighbour sold his on for 2.5k after buying it for 250 etc.

You just need a valid MOT on the vehicle to put the plate on retention. Soooo, you put it on retention before the car is scrapped and written off...

i heard they check 1 in 10 though or something like that? So if they came to check and you had crashed your car the MOT wouldn't be valid? Or have i made it up in my head type of thing because i worry too much?!
