Its not the battery, the keys work fine to unlock the doors etc.
It might not even be that, its just i'm sure i've read about haveing to resynch keys before on vags.

ermm Sounds immob related, only way it can be done is to get something like VAGCOM or take it to VW
does it start then cut out, or not start at all ?

dont let them gibe you any bollocks about an hour diagnosis charge
its 0.5 to re code a ket, get half hours diagnosis done and go from there
mattb and svm are/where VW techs, they might be worth asking

Uncle is service manager for arnold clark vaux, he'll sort it out with vw or do it in his place if he can.
Just getting the car there will be the problem, i'll see if it starts in the morning.

The central locking remotes can sometimes be synchronised manually, but inop immobiliser fobs will need to be checked with a VAS 5051 or 5052.
If they are serviceable and don't need renewing they can be re-coded to the control unit at the same time.
The action itself doesn't take all that long, however, the damage check, all associated paperwork, plus retrieving the vehicle from a packed car park, washing it after the job and returning it to a parking space will invariably take well over an hour.
