There is absolutely no reason at all to install any version of longhorn.
Get the latest vista release candidate.

I don't think any of the longhorn versions were public so it wasn't free then whereas vista beta 2 and rc1 are public.
I downloaded beta 2 and rc1 perfectly legitly for free.

jesus dude, any version of longhorn is very unstable, with hardly any features available.
download a version of vista (ideally RC1) from ANY torrent site

You won't see anything in longhorn because they were all rubbish.
