Think so, ignore the common, just put the live and neutral into the bottom two holes.

Put red in Common, black in L1 and green/yellow in the earth terminal that is in the casing.

no worries, by the way, if you have any brown insulation tape wrap some around the red and black wires.

Urm maybe we should isolate the light first ??, as this would cause shocks. Go to the MCB's in ur fuse box and flick off all the light in wherever upstairs or downstairs then do it.

I have been electrocuted a fair few times when i was an apprentice
I was drilling a fuse box with a hole saw and tried my best not to push too hard so not to slip and go thru, but I did and hit the busbar.... It hurt!
blown a few side cutters up too which was fun!
and my boss once told me told wire one 3 phase cable into the fuse box but dont turn it on then wire another in but u can turn that one on
he handed me the one I was not to turn on and off I went
finished that one and wired the tother in and turned it on
2 ins later he turns up with an afro
he had only passed me the wrong cable mofo!

my mate was on site once and got asked to wire up a temp. light in the toilet, he wondered what'd happen if he soaked it all in water first. wired it all up then waited for his boss to go for a piss.

Bang!

He wasnt very popular that afternoon
