on a standard ecu you remove the chip that contains the map, read the info off it, put that info into a custom programmable chip, put this new one into the ecu and map it to suit.

you can also get a serial port remapp like alot of VAG people have where the map is fed to the ecu via the diagnostic port

Well whoever did the original wiring loom on the nova engine didnt wire in a diag port!
