I have a numnber of PCs to do this on, is it likely to go smoothly?
Im assuming theres not much difference between the two, except some network features and security?

Fresh install is always better though.

yeah, shove in a usb drive, copy them over. do a fresh install, connect usb drive, copy them back.

Anyone actually used XP Home to join a domain with server?
Im told it can be done, but im not sure what are the implications / disadvantages to not upgrading?
