you will end up virtually rebuilding the whole car,thats what happened with my old sporting,every week it seemed something would need replacing

It's not a rip off. That's how much a brand new part will cost. There is hardly any point in risking fitting parts from scrappies because they will probably break too.

its probably the going rate BUT that doesnt mean to say its not a rip off as generally i consider the dealer prices for all makes a total gross rip off

Yup, motorfactors are nine times out of ten alot cheaper than Dealerships.

i may of mis typed, i paid 279 for a pump full fitted with new fluid

Fiat wanted 300 just for the part.
