I've just bought a video camera and want to be able to mount it in the car, forward facing, so I can record stuff, when I'm out and about driving.
Just wondering what types of mounts people have had experience with and found to be good, i.e. camera not falling all over the place etc. Bearing in mind I have no roll cage and bucket seats, so a headrest mount wouldn't be any use.
Cheers
Corb.

We bought one from a photography shop like Jessops a while back. It sits on the passenger side with a leg to the floor, an arm with a suction cup to the passenger window and an arm to the windscreen with a suction cup. Seemed nice and stable, though it wasn't used with any aggression

In my mates car we had a normal tripod and ratchet strapped each leg down to something. It didnt move anywhere.
A bit of a bodge though lol

i use a halfrauds (yes even here in the netherlands we have those) dvdscreen brace wich attached to the headrest.. the linkage had the same system as most camera's
my vids can be found here:
http://videos.streetfire.net/uploaded/5chaap2k.htm
and best of it all.. u can borrow your headrest to other corsadrivers to film their actions incar. like i did in this 1/4m compilation:

quite I typed my post in the hope people would read all of it! Not looking great thus far.
Anyone had much joy with the windscreen mounted ones? Suction cup jobbies? My feeling is it would stay attached for long when I start throwing it about and accelerating hard, but dunno.

corb get a bullet cam and put it in your front grill somewhere, then wire it abck to the main cam, which doesnt need to be facing anywhere

See, thats the only option I could think of Adam, Ive got a couple of those stands knocking about somewhere, I'm sure. But didnt really want to have to start putting screws into things!
Arnie, Yeah, I'll give that shot I think. I'll text you or something, maybe pick it up sunday if youre about?

Thing is Corb, its just MFD panel, and if need be, u can get another one of those for bugger all.
I'd go with Adams style of Camera as i think u'll find it hard to find anything else inside mounted (bar suction device, which is probably best to get online).
What about a roof mounted camera?
