ok boys have £500 n want a nice dslr. maybe a d50 with a nice lense? i know jessops have one with a 70-300mm lense for £509

but im sure there are better deals around...would a d50 be the best one or are there others on the market?

also gong to france end of this month. would they be cheaper over there?

Get a 350d with kit lens and then get a new lens when you know what you are looking for.

The canon gives a much better picture than the d50.

Some people like nikons better though.

Go to a shop and have a try with both of them.

if u can push to £620 then get the new canon 400d its a great camera for the price

Not £200 better than a 350d though. With the money saved you could buy a telephoto lens.

Debateable - People that have used Nikons (like me) stick by them and wont buy other gear, people that use Canons stick with Canons. Obviously thats a generalisation because thats not the case 100% of the time.

But the canon takes a better picture, and has better high iso performance.

The feel of them is what you would be choosing on.

Image quality for me every time though.

Thats not a bad price with lens actually although you've stil got a memory card after that.

Would depend how much cheaper the 350d could be had for.

its without the lens! dammit! still only £500 with it!

my dad wants to know. he has lots of lens's from a 35mm film cam! would these fit a dslr? i didnt think they would?!

Depends, you get adaptor rings but you will only be able to manual focus and its near impossible with the small dark viewfinders.
