ok ill try keep this breif. i have been driving 2 and a bit years, and during which time had no accidents nothing, there fore earing 2years NCB, but last month i had to make a claim as i crash my car (no other car hit or damaged) so does this mean i have been reset back to 0 .. even tho i have had 2 years without a claim ?

before you rush into it and say YES you have no years etc, the letter i got from my insurance after accident says i still have two years NCB and also the new insurers website will still let me type 2 years and then let me add an accident to it :S its a touchy subject, if any one has a definate 10000% answer please enlighten me

unless you have protected no claims, it will go back to zero.

If you have a letter from the insurance company saying you have 2 years no claims you have 2 years no claims.

You do NOT automatically lose all your no claims...I had 2 years taken from my 5 years when I had an accident years ago..

Also my car got broken into and I made a claim and it was full piant job down one side and door / stereo and only removed 1 year of my no claims.

But you would see some reduction say 20- or 2-1 etc..

you might be lucky though...
