2nd, graphics are piss poor especially when against stuff like the steam engine for halflife etc
The reflection uses some seriously shoddy image, landscape looks seriously false and like said the water looks like chrome....would have thought MS could have done better.

Interesting when an FPS game can do scenery better than a flight-sim (which you'd expect to have amazing scenery)!

The game is Crysis, by the way...

If that is your computer cybermonkey you don't have dx10

The graphics on dx10 turned up full should be significantly better.

Crysis needs stupid power to look so amazing does it not Dan?

They said even the latest consoles coudln't handle it, although that just sounded like they coudln't be arsed porting it.

Yeah, it's going to need a seriously decent rig to play it, although the fact it'll run on DX9 surprises me, as per the unofficial minimum/recommended specs below...

Minimum Requirements:
- CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
- Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0)
- RAM: 768Mb/1Gb on Windows Vista
- HDD: 6GB
- Internet: 256k+
- Optical Drive: DVD
- Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP

Recommended Requirements:
- CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
- Graphics: Nvidia 7800GTX/ATI X1800XT (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
- RAM: 1.5Gb
- HDD: 6GB
- Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
- Optical Drive: DVD
- Software: DX10 with Windows Vista

However, to get the best out of it, you're going to want DX10, as per the pic below!

Which means it'll take longer to install the game, off the 27 DVDs, than it will to get bored playing it!

its 2DVD's of compressed textures. will require about 10GB free space. and getting bored is your opinion. the fact is that it is the best simulation available to the public, and many millions enjoy it, incuding me. who gives a shit about how long it takes to install 2DVD's, you only have to do it the once

EvE Online is bad enough, on long journeys, but they take a matter of 15-20 minutes to travel long-distance, and you've always got the possibility of being attacked by players or computer-controlled pirates at any stage of the journey......how can you find enjoyable something where you spend 15 minutes taxi'ing across an airport to the right runway, spend a few minutes preparing to take off, take off, then hit autopilot and come back to your computer 2-18 hours later, to spend 10-15 minutes preparing to land, land, spend 15 minutes taxi'ing to your parking space, and voila, game over?
