do I get an X16XEL?
and difference in torque compared to a proper X16XE
Is it worth changing only the bottom end or the whole engine to a X16XE one?

No you get an X16XE. An XEL has a different inlet manifold.

no, you get the equivalent of an x16xel
the x14xe and x16xel had smaller inlet ports and shared the same head.

the X14XE head and inlet manifold are different too ed. you would have less power than an X16XE.
but like Lee says, its just easier to get an full X16XE in there.
