just started mucking about a wee bit with the sound..
You have pop / stadium / rock etc...
And 'user' where you set your own volumes...What do you find best settings for user?
At moment I have mine set like this..
120Hz - 10
500Hz - 8
1.5Khz - 4
5Khz - 6
10Khz - 10
12 Maximum by the way..
Just be interested to hear peoples views and there settings for optimum sound?
Also what does AVL stand for? and do? can't see it in manual..?

Do you not have an external speaker system / surround sound thing?
Id use that rather than the Tv's own equaliser..
not sure youd have much benifit otherwise on tv speakers?

Surely the DVD system can run the TV? Does it have an AV in option?

you just run the cables into the back of the sound system, there is a way to set it up so you use different channels and stuff, I did the same at my grandads but cant explain it with out the thing in front of me

The dvd is plugged in.
All the speakers and sub plug into rear of dvd player, with connectors like phone sockets.
Scart into TV
So do i get a cable that goes from TV to DVD??? not sure on this at all...
WIll have to have a look at rear of machines......SO dvd player would have to be turned on when tv on etc...

You should be able to have the sound coming out of your surround system using just the scart cable mav.
There will be a 'function' button on the remote or the player itself. This will enable you to cycle through the different inputs/outputs on the player. Mute your TV and keep pressing it until you hear sound.

Should be in the instructions about function modes if you have them but I'd imagine that you can do it!

Graphic equalisers are the biggest waste of time ever. I suggest you let the sound recording engineers do thier job by pressing the off button on your equaliser.

Try the scart from the DVD into that spare one (VCR?) on the telewest box. Then set the DVD function to 'AV in' or what ever its called, should then get telewest sound through surround sound??

Should just be able to plug phono leads from the phono sockets on the back of the telewest to the dvd aux in sockets, colour for colour.
Then should work if you choose the option for the aux in on the dvd.
It does with my dvd and a freeview box anyway!

Aye tried right from Telewest box to dvd and tried all options on DVD but nothing...
The scart from telewest box goes right into tv
scart from dvd goes right into tv
I don't have a video hooked up at all..
Bram scart from dvd to telewest box instead of into Tv? and then scart from telewest box to TV?
