Mate had one like that and it was universal. Didn't really do the engine any favours (used to jerk and pull at low speeds), so it got ditched in favour of a Viper. That made the car run better "low down" and not a pig to drive at low speed.

Air box is by far the best.
Followed by sealed cone filter (Viper, BMC?)
Followed by cone filter, which is juuuust above....

A sock...

Open filter on mine ran like a pig when cold, very jumpy, but it went damn well. Was noisey and fairly raw...
Viper Sealed filter, no issues at all when cold, very smooth all the way up to 6200rpm odd then you could feel the power die off after....

cheers, might have a see if i can get the airbox on. will a normal vaux panal be ok or would a performance one be better?
was looking at the vipers before, if the box doesn't fit then should i go down this road?

Aftermarket panel filter only costs about £30, so go with that.

Vipers, i'd say borrow one off someone if you can and see for youself what its like.

Was gonna say, Dave B's 196 (or 208) spec TB kit costs about £1500, but the total bill after replacing gaskets, oil, mapping, rod bolts etc came to over £3k.. HE done a list on Mig. Whatever is says it costs, add anohter £1000

binned the K&N for this one to bring down the noise a wee bit.. that worked.. and throttle response improved

with a closed induction kit do you loose the induction noise of the XE but get better power gains than an open cone e.g K & N

Standard 12v - I honestly don't think an induction kit would make that much difference or would it?
