Came up behind this old crappy looking merc, went to overtake a load of traffic and he gave it some toe, so did i, and it was quite even
was a merc E430 so knew at the time it would be something 4 litre
Looked up the stats
E430 V8 Elegance 4d Tip Auto 4266 / 8 275 155 6.4 25 17
auto and looks like an old pops mobile

I know plenty of old cars that are fast Has kickdown though so it's not going to make much of a difference And clearly it's heavy, but i think the 4.3 makes up for it
Don't forget your's is a five door family car aswell

plenty have kept up with it, i wouldnt expect an old barge to be as nimble though
PS. i kept up with him not vice versa, if i was in front it may have been a different story
