£45 isnt alot for a desk
Ikea sell table tops from £15 and legs for £6, plus their desks start from about £20 as well
The one we have was from the bargian corner of ikea, its got a small chip on the back so they reduced it from £80 to £20!

Cant stand small desks, probably because half the time need to have books or paper all over the place for my work. Have this desk from IKEA though... (Galant Corner in White, £102)

Depends what you need, if you need it to have paperwork sprawled across the place and looking untidy get a big desk

Yip just mdf mounted to the wall.
It's actually massive but since I got it its been filled with rubbish like that printer.
Was just keyboard and monitor originally and looked much bigger.

that looks really cool john.
mines gonna be in the middle of the room kinda thing though so dont have a wall to attach it to as such...
i have though about rearranging my room though and slapping my monitor on the wall. guess i could go with your idea there to put the keyboard and mouse on

Mine is IKEA as well, same as Cosmo but I've also got the bit to extend the L on to the right - mine is the other way around to that one. You can never have enough surface area!

Mine is fairly tidy. Loft on the other hand is now a bit of a state. At least I can't see that now
