You'll have difficulty trying to find what that paint code is. I tried and had no luck... But basically, if you get the code from TVR, then you just go to a paint suppliers like Brown Brothers, tell them the code and voilla!

i dont know they might just have a some objections against it.

If i was to buy this amount of paint is that all i need to paint the car, i know i would need primer and laquer but its a basecoat so would i need something else over the top.

And is this how much paint costs everywhere?

Ebay

P.s. I know i must sound like a right twat asking these questions but im just starting out on this kinda stuff.

The garage didn't know or care about what I was talking about when I phoned to ask. TVR wouldn't tell me the code either...

Paint is expensive stuff. Simple straight black paint cost about £60/litre of a recent job. Laquer is expensive too. It's one of those things where it's worth spending money on something that is decent quality to stop it cracking, or hazing... Ya know.

That stuff needs a ground coat under it. Normally you would paint the car black. The put the base coat on top of that. Then you need to laquer over the top of that to seal it in.

I would say you are biting off a lot there if you want to paint metallic or pearl on a first attempt. My recomendation would be to use a straight 2k colour like red or black or something. Painting is hard! It's not just a case of whacking it on and hoping for the best. I'm learning at the moment and trying to get a metallic down and look good takes a fair bit of practice...

Is that a photoshop, look at the arches and wheels.

The racing green place in the pic is just up the road from me so not far from you. Maybe take a trip up to them and see if they will tell you the code. I guess they would be printed on the plate like they are on vauxhalls

express paints will match any colour.
if your painting over old lacqure you wont need a prima only if your on to metal or plastic paint will stick to old paint or lacqure on probs. just scuff with red or grey scotch bright and lay it down dont use 2k unless you have an air fed mask use water based base coat and iso free clear

You could ask on the piston heads forum. Plenty of owners on there
