As some might know I went to the hospital earliert to have my foot xrayed.

I went had xray, then the lady that did the xray said to wait outside while they check that they came out ok.

about 5 minutes later she came out and said it isnt cracked or broken, just a bad bruise. So I went home feeling quite pleased. However I didnt realise that I had to then go see a proper doctor who would look at the xray in more depth and give me a more info.

My sister works at the hospital and in the next department and they asked her where I was when my sister phoned me and I told her I was at home she passed the phone over to the doctor who said its heavy bruising, soft tissue damage and ligament damage.

Reckons I have to not play football untill there is no pain at all when pressure is applied to the damaged ares and that that could be 2-4weeks

This happened to me...

New Years day we had the works party (i work in a pub, closed the pub at 5, drank from then) About 6 in the morning, i stumbled home, but realised i was locked out... decided that climbing the drainpipe to knock on someones window would be a good idea...

I got about 10-12ft up, knocked on the window then slipped, fell down, hit the corner of the step, so half my foot was on, half was off.

Woke up in the morning, forgot about it, jumped out of bed and collapsed.

Anyway... wasn't a break, just "the most bruised foot i've seen in ages" according to the doctor. Was on crutches for a week, and in slight pain for another month or so everytime i did anything.

Don't play on it until its fully better or you will make it worse and end up out for longer.

2-4 weeks you wish mate!

I did some very bad damage to my heel a few years back, not sure if it were broke or what but it took 12 months before the pain went away completely and before I could walk again... unless you get crutches you might be looking at age s

Ligament damage is harder to shake off than a strain or break, because just as you think it's all healed, you damage it again.

I dont know how I would react to being told this. Im not sure I could handle being told I cant do something I love.

Im just gonna take it easy for a few weeks and see how I feel. Might even say sod the rest of this year and go back after xmas.

If its ligament damage go see a physio asap. Ultrasound speeds up the process double quick time and they will also advise you on a steady recovery so you have the best chance of playing again. No point just resting then going to try and play again.
