I have played about with PS for a while now to improve/change photos ive taken. The only things i can do is desaturate, and mess with the hue etc to make the lookin diff...also by adding a boarder. What other things can i do to make the pic look diff? I know you have the filters but not kean on whats there. Heres a couple of pics ive took, but want to learn new ways.

you oculd have a play with the contrast and curves (in image>adjustments)

you can blur the background and keep the subject in focus....

select car/subject with lasso tool then pixelate the back ground its easy
