Is it just a glorified USB adapter that PC World sell for less than half the price that Microsfot want?
Basically a friend of mine has a PC downstairs in his house, and a 360 upstairs in his room. He wants to get it on Live, so I suggested getting something along the lines of:
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0752190036.1164472986@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccjaddjhggkffjcflgceggdhhmdfhn.0&page=Product&sku=587548&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null
USB adapter into the Xbox, and the Router downstairs connected to the PC. Would that work? And would it need to be a Modem Router, or just a Router?

I'm not sure if a USB type one will work, but I use a Belkin wireless adaptor for mine. Had it on my old Xbox so did'nt want to buy an official Microsoft one for my 360

Does yours connect to the back of your 360?
Would you mind finding me a link to what your using? Only the PC World gimp didn't have a clue!

Thats what I have there, it connects to the Xbox with a network cable (which I think you get with the Xbox anyway) Just plug it in and it sorts itself out, never given any trouble and is nice and fast. Not sure if its cheaper than official Microsoft one though, never looked.

The Microsoft one is £60.
So how have you got yours set up? Sorry for the questions, but I really want him to get on Live so I can kick his arse at FIFA

I have a Belkin router upstairs, then that adaptor is just plugged straight into my 360 in my bedroom. Probably the same as you would set up a Microsoft one.

So my mate would need a wireless jobby downstairs next to the PC in order for the Belkin Gamer Adapter to recieve the signals upstairs?

Yes he would still need a Wireless router of some sort, but he would need one of them with the Microsoft one too. Sorry if im not explaining myself very well, im no good at this technical mumbo jumbo.

I get ya, don't worry i'm just as bad with all this networking stuff.
My next question for anyone on here, can the Xbox360 use a USB Network Adapter?
