My next door neighbour has a S reg vectra, the 2.0 16v. Im just wondering what the top speed is on one of them.

according to the digi display it's doing 137.1!! Thats pretty quick.

yes, a 1.4, and the bottom one is a B, which originally was a 1.4, and even with the 1.6, it wouldnt do 130.

The vectra will do 131mph, according to vauxhall figures.

Haha it will deffo do more than 130. He took me out in it earlier and it did 130 at 5000rpm. Im just wondering what it would do obviously if he pushed it more

the speedo will be over-reading, it definitely wasnt doing 130.

I cant see why it wont be doin 130 and it still had 1.500rpm left so either way if it does do 131 the speedo must be majorly out

it's only a 2ltr mate, it's not gonna be that fast!! Plus a vectra is about as aerodynamic as chest of drawers.

speedo will be out, especially at that speed,

my corsa will do an indicated 130 but in reality its 115-120

Was in another thread once - his speedo was fucked and the EML on, doing 4krpm in a 12v in 5th. That's about 80 - 90mph.

Most accurate and easiest way to find out top speed is a Road Angel as they are accurate to the nearest second iirc!

Deano, not a 12v mate

Gearbox on the 1.6 engine didnt have a speedo sender hole, so the speedo never worked, hence the EML, that was 4200rpm in 5th, so probably quite a bit more than 90mph , with no water in it

I remember that being in another thread and it was a 12v because I said about him pushing the engine a fair bit.
