It's not in the start menu

I'm sure it used to be in Start > All programs > Accesories > Calculator...

nothing is there though

if it doesnt work it means it has been removed from windows.

Goto control pannel, add and remove and then add remove windows components, tick the accessories box and go into it and find calcl there.
