has anyone got fitting instructions for an m-tec short shift f20/ f15..as i just baught a cheepy ebay version, with no instructions...

id imagine its quite easy, but just to make sure

remove old linkage, fit new one.

simple as that

oh...ok.. use the same way of setting the linkage up?...2 pins.

or as the main bar is shorter, can i not do it that way??

Mate let us know how they are when fitted as i may get one soon.Maybe even do a tutorial on it? Good luck with it.

honestly, its simple.

remove gear selector to linkage pin (gearbox end)

slacken the selector rod pinch nut (under the car)

remove the linkage securing pin (on the rear engine mount)

remove the linkage assembly, pop off the top balljoints to make it easier

fit the new shorter shift bit. and reassemble

set up the gear linkage as in haynes manual.

Thinking of getting it myself, had my eye on it a while but more pressing things to do first (like getting the car back from the booth for starters ).

Coming together though; new alloys/tyres, depo lights currently in transit, badgeless grill.

This next probably then my springs.

ok...its all on and working lovely if i do say so........but....

the rubber boot on the standard linkage, i couldnt get it to fit my new1.
is it necessary?

erm..its stiffer......gear lever has about 2" of movement from 1st to2nd instead of 3"

mines from the ebay link..........i think the m-tec one comes with a neoprene centre bush tho...

worth doing if ur gonna fit a quick shift.. i will see what price i can do new quickshift linkages, think i can do them cheaper than ebay.. chris
