CORSA PROJECT!!!
Sorry this is late, I have some free time on my hands so thought i would have a go at one of these "work in progress" threads (this will actually be updates tho craig), hahaha!
I brought this car just before the summer for £600 from one of my mates. This is what it looked like the day is arrived.
The plans where to redo all the colour coding, lower, refurb and black wheels, remove bump strips. This was all dependent on one thing MONEY!!
That summer i went to canada with mart and someother mates, this meant the corsa wasnt getting any love.
As soon as i got back i was straight onto it.
Colour code and smooth front.
Sorting rust.
Eyelids off.
Heres how it looked after that.
After doing that I was on Corsasport and found someone selling Calibra full leather for £60, snapped that up.
I also did some interior painting. Vents, MFD and glovebox handle.
Finally on this update i took the rear bumper off to reveal this...
Had to sort that lot out and didnt have enough money to get it welded so it was a DIY job. sander and Kurust.
The drums where rusting up hardcore so gave them both a little sand down.
Finished off some colour coding i had to do.
Sprayed the bonnet, not really happy with the result though.
I had SO many scratches down one side so it was a case of tiny bits to filler and about 2 hours of sanding to perfection.
Heres a quick look at the engine bay.
I had some fun with the drill!
Started the semi smooth. (just some fibreglass)
Thats about it for now will have some more tonight because i will probly be finishing that semi smooth.
Heres something i saw near tauntons college!!!
And heres another one of southamptons finest
I am thinking about this colour now insted of the two tone.
Thanks guys keep the comments coming.
I CAN DRIVE ON SUNDAY!!!!

Looking good - lucky you didn't try towing anything before you took the bumper off, may not have been pretty.

yeh the back panel is pretty bad but i welded some plates in and it pretty solid now. probly more solid then before. We think it got hit from behind because the smash panel bar thing had a dent in the middle, i hit that out.
whittie: yeh its my first car and im loving it
they arent my neighbours but the ferrari and the bentley are owned by the same person, he owns a catering company.
Thanks for the comments keep them coming and some suggestions too.

I'm going to do 3 coats of primer and 2 of paint... i think I have been told not to laquer it though.
So yours didn't turn out that well ? What was wrong about it ? Didnd't match the colour of the car ? Or is it chipping ?

when you applying the paint you need to make sure you apply it thick enough but not so thick it runs..
the rule of thumb is when its on the panel the panel should have an equal shine and not look speckled or misted.
if you do get any runs sand them out with a block and 1200 or 1500 wet making sure you remove all of the previous scratches before using the next grade.
with the laquer issue if your using a solid colour and mixing with a hardener and thinner then you may not need laquer.. your paint supplier should be able to confirm this..
if you dont need laquer then you going to have to compound polish the areas you have sanded down, its worthwhile doin the whole car to get an even shine.. for this youll need some G3 cutting compound and then a finer grade something like fastglaze made by same people as tcut i think.. or failing that tcut will do but it will take some work.
you can do all that with a cloth.. altho id buy some decent polishing clothes as well.. or if you prefer a polisher with adequate polishing sponges..
need to be careful with the polisher though as you can easily go through the paint and be back at square one..

Sorry guys but i missed this so this is a back track up date.
my mate and I fitted this central locking kit all by our selves and it was a mission. We sat there for half an hour with the wires on our lap wondering what to do with them.
Finally got round to doing it. We have thought of better ways of doing it now tho lol.
The interior is all back together now.

Update
I got it today!!!
Its insane i ordered the new kits like yesterday and i got a ring today that it was instock. Overnight delivery or something.
Anyway aswell as that i get in from college and my mum asks, what are you going to do with those doors at the front door, im like what doors?? I go open the front door and my mates two nova dehandled doors are sat there. So two double goodness.
I rush off to halford and pick up the kit and rush home and unwrap it and its all there.
Im do excited to get it on now. Gotta take it to get the springs compressed and put on to the front shocks.
Heres everything that turned up today.
This is a little back dating but tuesday i also fitted a laguna splitter to the front of her and i love it. was a pain in the arse to get the cut in the middle right but i hope i got it relativally right.
Even more back tracking i did this smooth boot lock surround for a mate.
If anyone wants one doing i can do it for a tiny price. Looked mint and was so easy to do. Good mod if you dont have the money for a semi smooth.

UPDATE
Today was an insane day.
I already had the lowering kit ready at home so I woke up nice and early to get it done. My mate came round to give me a lift down to the garage at 9, taking my old shocks and the new ones he used my top mounts to get the springs on the new shocks. We got that done and i also grabed myself a part time job with the garage with is good. We got home is good time and started to fit the front shocks.
Got half way through the second and realised that we where late for college rushed there for 2 hours and rushed back at lunch. Got the fronts finished and started the rears. Got everything sort of on but not properly bolted at the top and had to go back to college for another 2 periods.
Got back after college and finished it off. here the finish result:
I just took it out for a drive and the rears are rubbing on the tyres. I have heard that all you have to do it cut the metal arch and then cut the plastic arch and its fine.
This true?
