Some of you may have been waiting for this, its take a lot of work and communication with Motor Sport Vision but we finally have something that’s 90% arranged, I’ve tried to answer all your possible questions, so interested ?, read on..........

The Plan
Corsasport Sign onto a open pit lane track day at Motor sport Vision (MV) at there Brands Hatch Circuit, Kent

The Location
Brands Hatch Circuit
Fawkham,
Longfield,
Kent DA3 8NG
Tel: 01474 872331
Fax: 01474 874766

The Track
Of all the circuits in Britain, Brands Hatch is the one that exudes the most character. History seeps from every fibre of its being and, as a spectator venue, it is unsurpassed in what it can offer. The natural amphitheatre that is its 1.2 mile Indy configuration offers unparalleled views of the action, while its sensational Grand Prix circuit remains one of the biggest challenges in UK motor racing

Indy Circuit
Length: 1.198 miles (1.929 km)
Direction: Clockwise
Corners: 6

What’s an open pit lane Track day ?
An open pit lane track day offers you the flexibility to go on and off circuit as much as you like throughout the day.

If you have never done a track day before then please be aware that there can be some faster vehicles on these events with more experienced track drivers. However, if you would like to attend an open pit lane event then we advise you book yourself a session of instruction and you should be up to speed in no time at all.

Why an Open Pit lane day
This was a difficult one, after a lot of thought and talking to MV they and me think this is the best decision, reason being is that I’d imagined a lot of people will want to go out together, and on a session day (where you go out for 20mins at a time) this couldn’t happen, as they couldn’t let all different drive abilities out together

The Open Pit lane days are more expensive, but we get to go out together, and there’s more track time as well, which I’m sure you agree is the most important aspect of the event

Time table of a typical Open Pit lane session

Signing On
This is signing of indemnity forms, checking of driving licences and allocation of instruction sessions.

Safety Briefing
This will cover track day rules and circuit information.

Track Time Begins
The track is now open until lunchtime where you can go on and off circuit as you please

Lunch
On all track days there is a one hour lunch break, which will be between 12am and 2pm

Afternoon Track Time Begins
The track re-opens for free lapping

Track Time Ends
It’s time to head home

The Date
Weekday March or April 2007, can not confirm until the Race Dates are confirmed

The Cost
£130-£140

The advantage of going through CS
If we get a pre determined number of bookings, we all get a discount on the price, and also get advantages of using the Pit Garages for free, which usually will be around £100-£160 for us all

Who can attend ?
Any CS member who want to, going against CS official events policy we cannot allow just Corsa's on this occasion

Requirements
A U.K driving license and a roadworthy car/or an acceptable maintained track day car
A crash helmet
And if in a open topped car, long sleeved top

But I don’t own a crash helmet ?
Don’t worry you can hire one for around £10 from Brands Hatch

What happens if 2 people want to share a car
No problems, addition drivers can be added for £25

What about passengers
Passenger passes can be bought for £10

And spectators
To spectate is free

Will there be catering facilities on site
There are catering facilities available, breakfast, lunch and tea’s and coffees etc. are available

Accommodation
There is loads, I can supply a list of hotels and B&B's which are all within 10 minutes from the circuit

What happens now
Basically this post is to get an idea of who’s interested and to see if we can get to the numbers I’ve agreed with MV, I’m sure your all agree this is a fantastic opportunity to not just drive round one of the best circuits in the U.K if not the World, but possibly a start of a good relationship between CS and MV which if everything goes well could lead to further events at other venues

If accepted I’ll agree a date with MV and then were be able to take bookings, all the booking will be done via phone with MV (I’m sure you like the added security of dealing with a massive company when spending a reasonable about of cash) and credit/debit cards are accepted which makes it easier, when booking in with them, they will have your details (Full Name etc) on file and release you part of the CS group, obviously if we get over a certain number the day will become cheaper for you

But I await to see interest in this and people than can genuinely prepare/finish a car in the required time

i want to get as many as cs people as poss then it means less public

alos please be aware these are very very well marshalled and run track days, with no room for stupid driving etc

jay, just been sensible and you wont crash everyone is really good on these days, its not about racing

you can only overtake on the left, so you watch that side and everything is cool, people wont come down the inside of you in corners, its not touring cars, the breifings are brillaint, and also theres intructors who will go round with you who are spot on as well
