Put in the case upside down - the amount of times people put the disk in without thinking

GetDataBack but you'll need to register it.
Second question, steal it.

Is it a CD-R?
Back in the day, you could "delete" files from a CD-R using Nero which just created a new session that hid the original files. This also used to work with the Windows XP CD copying feature, but I've not tried it for a while.

But if you're trying to access the CD rather than break it, most of the good data recovery software will work on CDs too. Isobuster might even be able to read all sessions, even hidden ones.
