Only straight comparison would be an EVO, but tbh i doubt it unless it's been modified.

a remapped LCR will pull away from a std wrx once rolling, then again, so would a remapped ibiza.

Theres loads of stuff that will surprise you, especially all these front wheel drive turbo nutters that are about now - Leons, Cupras, Golfs etc etc. They dont have great 0-60's cos of grip but when they are rolling they wont be far away. Needs the PPP pack really to take it over the 300bhp mark they are much heavier than the classics.
The kerb weight youve quoted is way off y'see, it was the classic shape that weighed 1265kgs the newage cars are nearer 1500kgs (1495 I think)

Unbelievable the way cars gain weight as they bring out newer models. The new Clio 197 "Sport" actually weighs 60kgs MORE than the original classic Subaru!!! WTF?

Once rolling I feel the VXR would be a match for most things with 4WD and a burble from the exhaust.

Yeah I got to agree really! Loads of scary FWD's out at the mo! Its just the rally reps have the grip, something which the FWD's struggle with (as I do aswell now )
There was a new VXR in blue out on Thursday night when I went out for a play! Really impressed with it, sounded awesome!
