Hi Guys,

When you play a new team you wonder just what sort of team they're going to be ....

a) A strong group who'd been out of the league for a few seasons & just returning or ...

b) a bunch of lads having a laugh & yet to find their feet.

Well, fortunately for us we got the second scenario!

Amigos kicked off their new campaign with a new line up. Hacker & Shean had departed & Ben Brown plus another King, Ben (Gazza's younger & more talented brother) joined the squad!

The starting line-up quickly got stuck in with Alan in particular making some strong tackles. Indeed after a long spell camped in the Caversham half Alan opened the scoring! 1-0

Dave was leading the line well & this meant both Alan & Del were able to push up in support.

The next ten minutes was a blur for both Caversham & those watching as Amigos buried their opponents comprehensively!

Apart from Del missing a penalty but then making up for it with his coolly taken third goal, the half was probably the most one sided ever witnessed by many there.

There was one other hilarious incident as Gazza, watched by his Dad & brother, attempted a ferocious drive at the Caversham goal, only to end up flat on his back having missed the ball completely!

The half time score was 9-0 leaving the manager with the fantastic headache of what to do in the second half.

On came Jay, Ben & Paul with Del staying on for the first 5 minutes or so.

The game was more even now in terms of chances as the new guys found their feet. However, good tackling & defending created some good chances. This time however, the keeper either saved them or they were blasted wide.

Ben got the debut goal he deserved, with a rifled drive into the far left corner. 10-0

Even the manager got a shot in after a good run (yup R U N!) and a great through ball from Ben. Although driven fiercely, it was straight at the keeper.

Ollie made a few saves, including one excellent one, to keep his clean sheet.

Great start guys! Next week it's the Boyz @ 9.30pm.
