5th - like I said, I hadn't used the gears enough, got to 60mph in 4th and changed up.
I think I might have been into the wind too.

Of course, hence why it was only firing on 3 cylinders knowing my luck it's probably only firing on 2.
Top speed is 93mph apparently - wasn't far off.

Don't say that, mine is on just over 64k and going strong!
oli_h - completely standard red, 12v GLS W-reg. You probably wouldn't have noticed me! Does your Starlet have stupidly small door mirrors like off a motorbike?

I have a feeling that's why your engine is fooked - I wouldn't dare take mine passed 15mph in 1st, it sounds horrible.

I agree - driven a 1.2 16v Corsa C and they're much better. I wouldn't have got a 12v out of choice, but it was bought and insured for me to get through first year of uni. They had previously paid for sisters Uni accommodation and a car cost less!

I agree, but I've learnt how to drive mine now - I'm lucky I don't drive anything else. They are strangely easy to wheel spin too; think it is 'cause there's no weight over the front wheels.
