Hi guys,
I have some spac RSX coilovers and just picked up my new wheels cav gsi ones with 195/45/15 tyres. Now I have heard about the old clearance problem between tyre and spax before but thought mine would be ok being vauxhall wheels and all.
But oh no!!!
the tyre touches the spring when its on the floor! DOH!
So I know I will need some spacers, does anyone know what size spacer I will need with the wheel/suspension combo?
or
will I have to space the wheel with washers and try it then get a spacer closest to that dimension. ??
soooooooo annoying

Its NOT just SPAX which have clearance issues, but most types of coilovers tbf...
if the wheels are standard offset (et49) then get 5mm spacers, 3mm may not be enough given the tyre width.

i slammed the Golf -80 mm on coilovers and found the inner tyre wall was touching the strut. I had to use 5mm spacers and issue was sorted

i had et 45 17" wheels with SPAX coilovers
5mm spacers were needed
it did not matter how low it was as it will always hit unless you use a spacer

Yeah I was just sitting here thinkin the same, is doesn't matter how low it goes, the wheel is always in the same position in relation to the shock.
do you need to space the rears too if you do the front?
