Ok ive done a search, can't find anything immediately useful enough.
Im just wondering a couple of things, im sure some will be down to preference, but this is a forum, and it thrives on debate.
1. How would a x16xe tuned to around the same power as a standard c20xe fair in a straight line compared?
2. Are c20xes reeeally that bad on corners?
3. How much more would you spend getting a x16xe to the 180bhp or thereabouts mark as compared with a c20xe?
Thank you.

I can answer number 2 for you
No, they aren't that bad. Its just that the 1.6 would be better in corners. Which is understandable due to the weight

I can only find a thread by danny lad when I do a search which doesnt answer much. My questions are quite precise though and not generally points that have been directly arisen in previous threads.

1. IF you could get equal power and torque, the X16XE would be quicker, BUT that is pretty much impossible, so the C20XE would be better in a straight line, in gear than the X16XE.
2. What Matt said, probably.
3. 2k for the X16XE, 1k for the C20XE.

1. depends on the method of tuning the x16xe
2. I dont like the way the corsa handles, a big heavy engine makes it worse
3.both a c20xe and an x16xe would need throttle bodies to get a genuine 180bhp. the x16xe would need cams and headwork so not a huge amount in the cost when you add in the cost of the initial conversion for the c20xe

the c20xe is about 60kg heavier than an x16xe (both engines with g.boxes and ancilliaries)

x16xe engines are fairly responsive to modifications aswell if iirc.
Wasnt you Dave though who said with the right suspension set up it will handle or am I sadly mistaken?

I think you can only really get a realistic judgement when you have owned both cars, Rob_lee seems to have no doubt at all that 1.6 vauxhall engines are better than 2.0 lumps.

yes, as rob said any car can be made to handle well with the right setup. Most corsas that are used in motorsport use the tuned 1.6 option as when it is built properly it is faster than the 2 litre and handles better.
on the road then its not as important which one you go for. I prefer the 1.6 engine, others would prefer the 2 litre. theres not many people that have had both a well tuned 1.6 and a 2 litre but the 5 I know of (inc me) prefer the 1.6.

Thats good to know. Coz i've had my corsa for not even 2 months yet.
I'm sticking to the 1.6 and wanting (hopeing) 150-160 bhp from it. LoL.
