My mates ipod when you wake it up from sleep mode jus stays on the apple symbol and won't even turn the back light on! tried resetting it (menu and select) but it jus comes back to the apple logo screen
I think its fucked but just thought I'd ask first

this happend to mine recently, have a look for places that will give you a new one they will be listed on the apple website. mine cost me £51 for a brand new one and they take yours.

have you tryed a hard reset ???
A usefull site tells you all the hidden diagnostics for the ipod
http://www.command-tab.com/2006/03/30/hidden-ipod-commands/ your have to scroll down the page too the green box
http://www.werty.net/2004/06/reset-ipod.html
If you get it to work download the updates from apple's website and resync it if you can

Yeah tried that and it jus reboots onto the logo again.
