as above please peeps, just wondered what the current lending rate is really?
last time i went to see a mortgage advisor it was 3.5x joint salary or sumthing like that
just wondered if its changed, out of curiosity really

the 3.5x joint salary wont have changed, the apr rate will have went up & you might struggle to get a fixed rate deal.

I was offered six times my slary mate - instead just took over 3 times my salary

6 times Biggest when I was looking was 4x, the norm was 3 times!!!
Must be changing to meet up with modern times

base it on uk average wage of 21K
Thats 63 for 3 times so 6 times is 126k - going to struggle even with that so thats why there so high
I wasn't comfortable lending so much so opted for just over 3

i got a 124k mortgage on a 140k house. Fixed rate of 5.59% for 2 years with no fees.
hopefully should hear if my offer is accepted today
The banks all offer fixed rates, just shop around. Halifax and chelt & Glous BS are good.

I have a rate of 4.9%, 67950k mortgage based on a 15k salary 4.5x annual salary, mortgage based on affordability - not by salary multiplier

yes ally tahst right as someone may have a high salry but alot of out goings
Basically I could have borrowed 180k but repayments were just stupid

i was at mortgage advisor last night. said cant get upto 4.5 times your salary
also told me interest dates are changin pretty much daily on mortgages just now

you can gte 4.5x as long as you can prove you can afford repayments.

alot of it is now judged on affordability you are beter of speaking to a mortgage adviser
