I've heard pro's and con's of doing this, but I'm thinking in a bay as smal as a corsas it may be an advantage to reduce as much heat as possible getting sucked into the throttle bodies? Any suggestions? Im thinking it would also save me getting the manifold shot blasted, I'll just wrap it and it will look better than it does now

i've been told to do this, bit easier when the engine aint in the car though!!!!

could crack the manifold tho! the heat needs to escape from the manifold!
get a cold air feed to the tb's

The main reason you heat wrap is to keep the exhaust gases hot. The hotter the exhaust gas is the faster the molecules are moving and therefore the quicker it moves out of the exhaust!

But it will also have the effect of keeping the heat out of the engine bay as you said and I also think it looks cool!!!

my mate wrapped his 205 gti manifold and it cracked after 10 mins of hard driving!

A manifold of high quality shouldnt crack if heatwrapped. Its definately a good idea in my opinion, I dont know why more people dont do it. Thermotec stuff from demon tweeks is top quality.

I used it on my Corsa for a while - Similar spec to yours (2.1, TB'd) and never had an issue. I changed the manifold for a better design to compliment the throttle bodies and never got round to putting it back on.

try and get another manifold, wrap it while off the engine then try it! if it cracks put ur old one back on..... happy days

mine was and still is fine
wrapped my type c from the day i got it and never had any problems

mild steel manifolds are know to crack through heatwrap, stainless ones shouldnt

BTB however dont seem to have these issues

I'm not 100% sure what my manifold is, I bought it off ebay for £37 just advertised as a 4-1 manifold, i needed a replacement for my old one. I'll give it a go and if it cracks then I'll have to get a better fannymould
