Buggy. No, not really. All the drivers I needed installed fine and didn't blue screen on me or anything like people have been whininag on about.
Slow. Not really either. It's pretty quick. Seems to boot nice and fast.
Pain in the arse to install. No way. Installed fine, first attempt. I just left it to do it's thing and about 40 mins later it was done - takes quite a while to install, but it is a huge piece of software. It had all of the drivers I needed too which were installed automatically. The only missing drivers were for my soundcard (confused it because I have two cards) and my TV card.
Copy of other O/S's. Who cares. It has some nice features and I don't care where they came from.
Only bad points are I had to get a silent cooler for my GPU because the original one was too loud and it's on all the time now. Been running for 24 hours now and everything is great. Ran Windows Update and the only updates it needed were for Office

If you get a proper copy of it with a proper product key then you should have no problems....
Apart from Nero, that and daemon tools WILL NOT work

One thing, does anyone know how to disable user account control? I'm talking about the box that comes up asking for permision to install stuff onto your PC. I would have thought it was in accounts but it isn't. I'm set as administrator, but it still asks me if I really want to do anything technical at all

Start > in the run box type MSCONFIG <enter>
Click on the Tools tab. Scroll down till you find "Disable UAC"
Click launch and reboot your pc

It's new. It's Microsoft. People also like complaining about things they know nothing what so ever about. One guy said it was not secure to me because somone 'cracked' the beta version 3 days after it coming out. A that news is over a year old and B that doesn't really effect anyone because it was the beta version, and all he did was figure out an algorithm to make serial numbers, which is hardly ground breaking stuff Having Vista is like owning a Fiat

i dont think theres ever been much doubt in what youve said above Ed, but it still isnt FULLY supported, and not every hardware manufacture supports it.
I ahve Vista at home, but im reluctant to install it because the last time i checked all the creative drivers were beta drivers, EAX doesnt work in games with creative/vista, netgear hasnt released SC101 vista drivers and are not sure when they will, theres still a long way to go before i can personally use it every day and be happy with it.
