Went up to see the corsa I was planning buying. I like it, its a 1.2 8v Corsa Swing, not the fastest thing in the world, (Proably the slowest ) But its gonna be good for a first car.

One or two problems with it, could do with a sill, its quite rusty, and theres a fair bit on rust on the slam panel. Apart from some other wee marks, its pretty damn good.

Front number plate is hideous though, will need replacing ASAP. Needs lowered too, up on stilts!! Also notice the F.U.K thing on the dash

Also, could anyone tell me what alloys is on it? They have vauxhall center caps anyway, I'm going to get the pained black as they are in pretty good condition.

Its only £200, and I've got until December to work on it anyways. Ive checked underneath briefly, it seems clean underneath. Just the drivers sill, its starting to rust, and the slam panel. Only seems to be surface rust on the slam panel though.

Right, some good news & bad news. Good news is that I'm getting it for £170, bad thing is paypal are being so, so slow in sending money to my account

Really wanted to have it today as its a long weekend, so no school. Could have done loads of work on it today

Anyways, first jobs when I get it are:

  1. Colour Code the arches
  2. Paint the wheels white
  3. Get a GSI spoiler & fit it
  4. Lower it 40 or 60mm?
  5. Depo headlights
  6. Gsi front bumper
  7. Calbira leather interior, if i can find!

I would like to drop a Nova GSI engine in it, but insurance would be so, so high for me. So ill do some little mods to the 1.2, as in Nova 1.4sr cam, 1.4 spi throttle body & injector, GSI maifold & system.. Should be a bit better with all that!

Oh aye, edit to say im probably getting a black rocker cover off d_jay50 on here, should tidy the bay up a bit!

I finally own the corsa! Went and picked it up earlier on, £170. Does 35mph in 1st gear, hehe.

Had a good look over it when I got it home. Seems the window washers aren't working, so ill give that a look over tomorrow. Also, the air horns aren't working, but thats a good thing

I'm having a corsa day tomorrow, pulling a sicky, so its all day work! Ill de-badge it, wash, polish, tidy, etc etc. Also might put on an induction kit, not too sure yet. Will also take some pics of it clean.

how can a 1.2 8v do 35mph in 1st gear? my 1.2 16v could do about 30 and that would be redlining.

Right, got a fair bit done today.

First of all, de-badged it:

Before:

After:

Then gave it a damn good wash & polish:

Then cleaned the interior, forgot to take any pictures after, but heres before:

Then went on to fit a green cotton filter, and give the bay a little clean (You can barely notice its clean, getting a new rocker cover soon)

Someone suggested I put the filter directly on the intake, and not use the hose, but this is wrong yes?

Was going to paint the drums & calipers, but theres locking bolts on, and I cant be bothered trying to get them off ATM. Will hammer a 17mm socket on them sometime and get them off!

Also, when I was cleaning my wheels, I noticed they arnt in as good conditon as I thought, so ill be on the lookout for a new set of wheels, in white hopefully!

Next: Lowered!! (Hopefully )
