As a power saving device, Vista runs your processor slower than its maximum speed. to get the best performance go to Control Panel->Power Options->High Performance (change power settings underneath)-> Restore default settings for this plan. and bobs your uncle. your processor should be running faster than it was.

Vista does not have the capacity to change processor clock speed/FSB speed on the fly, it will be reducing CPU usage through software control.

My processor already adjusts it's clock speed automatically to use less power and generate less heat. It's an AMD feature....

You need to have Cool&Quiet enabled on a compatable mother board. If you disable it then your processor works at top speed all the time

I always thought the continuum transfunctioner was a waste of time. That is until I coupled mine with the space reflux generator. l77t speeds

That doesnt give you any extra performance. Vista and the processors that support the feature monitor load and adjust the clock speed anyway. If a program needs most or all of your CPU then the clock speed increases inline with this. All your doing is wasting power and making your CPU run alittle hotter while idle.
