Have trouble with fault diagnosis?
Engine management light came on the other day, no problems with the running of the car. Had a short in the dizzy cap so I changed the plugs, leads and rotor arm, still waiting for new dizzy cap so cleaned up the old one and its actually running slightly better than it was.
Problem is that the ecu light is still on and diagnosis is picking nothing up, in fact, when the bloke who came out to me put his tester on it it was actually saying that there was no ECU. Kinda expected this may crop up as a problem but is there ant other way I can get this diagnosed.
At the moment I'm going down the, drive it til something makes itself known as a problem as it doesn't seem to be affecting the running. Couple of odd things have occurred but I wanna see if they become a constant before I start tinkering.
Plus I'm not a huge fan of the trial and error method of replacing bits, you never get the right bit first and it ends up costing a bloody fortune!
