here is the car as it was before i blew it up as it was my gf's
took the engine out
and now its sad under a sheet out side my house
well after final getting round to selling my TB's off my caribic blue gsi ive now got my self a let. well i was all in bit when i went to go pick it up but pilled it all in boxes and had to sort it out when i got it home. but its ok, bottom end has been rebuilt with a rebore and over sized pistons. head was a state so i stipped and rebuild it
after that got bit board as im waiting for bits to start rebuilding it so i started to clean up the turbo which came out ok i think
^
tried it on the head to see what it looked like lol.
did fine some turbo technics stamps on the turbo so ran them up and they said it had been rebuild fairly recent which is good, but inlet on it has been modded so there is no bend which im gunna change back once my other 2nd hand turbo gets here.
also painted my front bumper while i was board came out alrite i think only one run which im sure will flat out
thats it for now till i get more bits

im hating my new engine already.
head gasket arrived today so clean everything up put headgasket on started to tighten head bolts up got to the last to and the decided to strip the treads in the block
oh how pissed off i was, now found out that the bolts supplied with the engine where too short and it needed the earlier longer bolts
i had to go for a drive to cool down i was so pissed off, now im going stud and nut once the block is sorted cant really do much else till head is on

bit of an up date
finaly got hold of a re threading kit to fix my block
also got my stud and nut kit which i wasnt gunna get but pleased i did now
i was bricking it when doing up the head as to wether or not the treads would hold but they did
been busy paint bits too while i was waiting for the kit, inet and cambelt cover are done just gotta degraese rocker cover and then get that painted.
also put my timing belt kit on. still got a load more to do yet but im slowly getting there.
quick pic of the car as it is now, bit of a state at the minute but still needs alot of work
nice box of parts came the other day too.
braided hoses cv joint and engine mounts

update 8/3/07
finally got round to doing something today
got the afternoon off work seen as i wasnt busy
stripped most of the engine bay redy for painting at the week and and gave it a bit of a clean. turns out to be very clean so decided not to paint the whole bay
also stripped my arched and gave them a clean and waxoil
ignore the crappy suspension coilovers will be coming when i get the cash together
anyway to did my bit of painting and came out ok i think. just got the two struts to paint and then its done
also got my wheels last nite, i realy like them
what do you think???
got a bit board waiting for paint to dry so to a few pics
engine has now come to a bit of a stand still as its waiting to go in. inlet is now bolted on and a few more bits put on. cant put the turbo on yet as im trying to get a new ilet for it as mines been cut and welded
clutch also came yesterday 64 quid from vauxhall
anyway thats it for about another month hope not anyway
