Point 1
You said in other thread Arsenal gifted PSV a goal That was an excellent strike and in no way gifted by Arsenal.
point 2
Is it time the rule was changed on foreign players??? Arsenal fielded side with NO english players not even any BRITISH players..I think it is time the rule was back that only 3 or even say 5 non british nationels allowed ..You can't call Arsenal a british/english team..I know alot of other clubs going same way too..
Just a genearal discussion..not getting at you Robbo etc

you cant bring in any rules preventing the number of Euro players, simply because in the EU we have free movement of trade, so any limits would be against the law so to speak.
You can have limits on non EU players, and we do!

It was a decent strike but we completely gifted it tpo them as 1st half theyw erent in the game at all and then 2nd half we came out and decided not to play thus giftiung them a goal when we should really have thumpoed them, they really were rubbish bar Alex and Gomez in the 1st half
2... certainly agree BUT its mainly the 2nd rate prem clubs fault for charging such bollocks for players like Upson, Ashley Young etc... I dotn see why they cost so much when we picked up the liks of Pires, Rosicky and Overmars for less than £7m each yet Ashley Young cost nearly £10m - almost what we paid for Henry... arsenal just never could afford to do it Wenger said when he arrived there simply werent that many good young english players but its starting to change as our youth team is 90% english
The othe rproblem is the likes of pennant, bentley and upson all having poor attitudes compared to the other lads coming through at the same time and theyve had to move on

when arsenal pay £16m for walcott?
also the tripe about gifting a goal. ipswich gifted wolves a goal last night, arsenal did not gift a goal to psv.

Arsenal didnt pay £16m for Walcott.
PSV goal, not gifted but was a sloppy goal to concede IMO.

So not £16m then
£12.5m is still way too much for Walcott though.
Thats why Arsenal buy foreign, they simply couldnt afford to keep forking out that sort of money for English players when they are simply not that good

walcott was 10m
i think robbo means they gifted a goal in the sense they played sloppy and not as good as the 1st half. not that they gave it to psv on a plate.

Yesh indeed On both counts!
We were dominating the 1st half and they were rubbish then the 2nd half we jus couldnt pass, didnt defend and their bloke scored a good goal but had we not have completely gone to sleep we would never have conceded IMO as we were 100% in control!!
Walcott cost £5m upfront plus up to £7m in extras... £2m upon which appearances last seaosn rested hence why he didnt play once last season!!! Therefore he now costs up to £10m
Wenger did say that was a complete one off because he really wanted the player and that it was not likely he would ever poay that much again... where the fook did you come upo with £16m form Luigi

A horrific defensive error or an own goal or howler from a goal keeper are three things I'd consider gifting a goal. Arsenal were sloppy yes, but gifted the goal no. They should still go through though. If they turn up at Emirates.

I honestly think Arsenal are out now.
PSV will go to Emirates and stick all men behind the ball and play for the draw.

PSV are great defending leads, Wenger would have preferred to lose 2-1 last night instead of 1-0 IMHO AA RAC NHBC LOL AKA.

I think it was a really crap performance last night. It was a really really good strike but we helped them out by giving them so much space in the 2nd half.
As for the who stop numbers of non-english - would be very hard due to the laws in the EU.
As Robbo said. If you were a Director and you had spent money investing in the likes of Pennant and Bently for them to fuck about so much. How many times did Pennant have to get done for D&D to get get the message?
Then you pay a relativly small amount for a young kid from another country who puts 110% in all the time to make the most of thier chance.
Who would you invest in?
Yes there are some good english players out there but IMO they are few and far between - Why - too many reasons, mostly due to sport being so down on the list at schools IMO

All the coaches at Arsenal keep coming out on the website and saying how many good young english players they have coming thru and how bad it was over the past 10 years so hopefully the english sport has come on leaps and bounds since wenger came and we do get some good young english players coming thru but until we stop valuing english players at stupid prices there will be very few, if any!

but we were so in control it felt like an own goal/giving them a 1 nil headstart!
if they are good at putting 10 men nehind the ball we are fooked
