I went through a puddle in my 1.5TD corsa b and the rev counter is no longer working, the speedo is though.. What would be wrong? Does this mean my alternator isn't working any more?

This happened to my Escort TD. not sure if there the same on corsas.

Check the belt and tighten if necessary.

Will get her over the pit when I get hme this evening, what about fuses, would something like that cause it?
