Are there any utilities out there to analyse and fix any errors that may be found on a virtual disk used for a virtual machine?

Got one here that reports a couple of disk faults upon booting up, but it boots into some silly old Mac OS - which means I know fuck all about how to investigate it from the OS side of things

So wondering if there is anything I can run from windows on the virtual hard disk file?
