as above, im looking at getting 2gb of ram for my machine, but have noticed some is more expensive, in some cases, double the price.

some memory is a lot faster with lower latencys making it perform a lot better. Its also more overclockable usually.

Whether its worth or not is upto you, avoid ultra cheap RAM though

I want 2gb and wanted to spend no more than £100, but if its gonna be hassle, for the sake of another £30 and highly improved performance, I'd spend the extra tbh.

I have a Dell Dimension 5100, recommend away dear fellow..........

unless you planing to be geeking it up on games or anything intensive (3d modeling, video editing) then i wouldn't bother with getting stupidly expensive stuff.
GEIL ram is decent stuff for the cash, but to be honest it's like using super unleaded in a 12v corsa - will you notice any difference? marginally if you do, is it worth the extra?...probably not

edit - well you're unlikely to be overclocking it so i would just settle for some simple stuff like hynix, cheap as chips...works well

Would I notice the 1st is better? Or would I be wasting £23?

use froogle.google.co.uk and search the geek shops thread, to get the cheapest.
Stuff topshot posted up is alright, though if you're playing to get only 2gb then you could get it in 4x512mb which will save you 10 quid or so, though obviously becomes a pain the backside if you want to add more sticks.
Like i said, look at Geil ram, cheaper than ocz/corsair and just as good, if not better in some circumstances

edit - wasting £23 quid. It's unlikely you'll notice any difference, unless you planing to overclock it.
