posting on behalf of nic barnes aka muppetsport
warning about ebay seller - emotionless passion
about 5 months ago i purchased a black powdercoated rocker cover from this seller on ebay, they advertised powder coated bits for 20xe and 20let all the time, and chrome bits on ebay.
fitted the cover to the car, went to 1/4 mile day had to come home on an AA wagon. oil pressure release valve had siezed. fitted new pump, engine sounded ok didnt knock etc, all was well. 6 weeks later oil pressure release valve seized. manage to actually remove it from the pump and it looked like it had been wedged slightly. oil change and a bylon one all seemed ok. every now and again got a sticky lifter, or on idle occasionly oil pressure light would flick on then off. 2 weeks ago, started car up in garage, oil pressure light was on, checked release valve, sure enough nylon one stuck.
new pump ordered etc and new lifters this time. took rocker cover off to find bits of paint flaking off the inside of the cover. both sides had been powdercoated. bits of paint all in the oil ways, one lifter is seized in place. the cams are scorred, the cam caps are scorred and im dreading taking the crank out.
basically, this emtionless passion seller off ebay has destroyed my whole engine. it was a complete phase 4 built engine, the head cost a fair bit to have ported etc and im at a loss of a a few thousand quid.
please, seriously consider purchasing stuff elsewhere. i am going to contact citizens advice and ebay and see where is stand for making a claim. i have recipts for my whole engine totalling a large amount that im sure a solictor would happily look at. i will be emailing the ebay seller, explaining what their incompetance has caused in a not very polite way
pics will follow tomorrow, im too annoyed to remove more parts as ill end up putting an axe through the whole engine.

Is it an actual ebay shop (vat registered company) or just a dude knocking stuff out from his shed on a normal ebay account??
