As the title- everone should own all three series.... have watched all of it over the last month and it is the highest quality series I have ever seen on a tv screen....

The only thing that comes close to its quality was twin peaks....

Started to but then Fox or whoever it was fucked up the running order and it just stopped need to pick it up from season 4 again.

Started watching this a while ago. Got part way through series 2 then my work started mounting up. Will pick it up again at some point, great show.

Takes about 6 eps to get going IMO. I was so close to giving up on numerous occasions. Even then series 1 is fairly slow going.

I think I watched three from memory.

Didn't like a single character.

I'm sure it is the best thing ever but I just can't see how it goes from that to that.

I know it's a small thing but one of the opening scenes is a captain busting someone's chops.

I wasn't sure if I was watching an 80's hill street blues episode, police squad or the wire

There are five series. But I agree this and The Sopranos are the 2 best shows I've ever seen.

Sopranos is better.

For The Wire I'd rank the seasons 2-1-4-3, I haven't seen 5 as apparently it's not very good.

There wasnt 5 series when I started this thread in 07 lol

Davis Simons motto is "fuck the casual viewer" ... Im glad some people dont like it ...that means its good.
