started to remove the a/c from car
already worked out i need new front engine mount for when fitting shorter belt.
already removed the rad, fan, and few other bits of pipework

is it possible to remove the rest of the pipwork while the engine still in car? ie: parts that go into the bulkhead, and that are underneath/behind the battery.

Also is it possible to remove the wiring if i strip down the sections of wiring loom that contain wires for aircon?

Thanx
Gav

You can get the stuff out the engine bay, yeah, but you'll probably have to cut one of the rubber hoses as it gets stuck.

You'll also want the front bumper off, and the radiator out to make the aircon rad come out easier.

Then you've got all the stuff behind the dash

Maybe I should have read it

If you've got the rad and fan out already, you're ahead of me...

have you had the system de-gassed?

cool, you won't get a face full of nasty cold gasses then

if you undo the flange on the bulkhead, under the battery, the pipes should come out.

It's a bit fiddly, and like I say, you might have to cut one (I cut one as I couldn't be arsed to do it slowly)

Engine mount is about £42 from Vauxhall, belt is next to nothing.

You should be able to do it in an afternoon.

I wanna do this in the near future. Let me know how you get
on Gav.

What I can't understand is, is the power steering pump and the AC pump all in one?

And, im guessing you mean you need a new alternator belt? one off a corsa with out AC, but with PAS?

No, the pumps are seperate.

Yes, PAS, no AC for the belt.

As far as I remember, the 'new' tensioner I got was 'new' rather than 'different', hence the questioning

I think they're all the same.

no, need one off a non aircon model with PAS.

(so different rather than new)

you will see why when you try and refit the belt without one

You have to take the dash out mate!

The tensioner - Takes it's for the alternator belt?

oh rite, thought u could get it out by just removin glovebox and few other bits, maybe rethink on removin that then
yeh tensioner is for altenator belt
and didn't buy new power steering pump, free from scrappy, mate work's there, thought it was that when had a whining noise, turned out to be tensioner, so gonna change anyway when removin a/c pump

yeh a/c pump connects to enine mount
non a/c mount litteraly mounts engine to chasis, but when u look at both in comparison ( mate showed me on autodata) u need new mount and tensioner as Dave A says
