ok - dont want to sound stupid but whats the best way of getting masking tape residue of my car?

I had to put some masking tape on the car the other day- to secure the arch. Anyway it rained!

Ive got the tape of-well kinda! but its left a sticky mark that i cant get rid of!! help! its doing my head in!!!

no panel wipe body shops use it 2 clean panels

where do you get this panel wipe from?, ill try the white spirit!-it wont effect the paintwork right?

Methelated (sp) sprit. The purple stuff. And doesn't do anything to your paint. But if in doubt, wash your car after.

i used whitespirit when i debadged my boot and it didnt do anything to the paint.

I'm with Jake on this one, no point in buying panel wipe when white spirit does the same job for much less money.

autoglym tar remover works rather nicely for removing various sticky residues
