not sure if anyone is interested but wondered if suspension settings are of any use to people as project Vsport is off to get the suspension and geometry all setup tomorrow on a proper computerised alignment testbed with corner weights etc...

we will be playing with settings on the camber, castor, toe, ride height, spring poundages etc until we find the best setup.

I am 90% sure they print out all of the results but if they dont I can write them down if anyone wants them?

well we spent 3 hours on it and still didnt finish it, far too many distractions to have a proper go. but we did get it half done, this is where we got to:

1 degree negative camber
1 degree toe out
about 2-3 degrees negative castor (machine decided it didnt like doing castor and was playing up a bit)

didnt get to adjust the rear beam at all, will get it all finished on the weekend when the workshop is a bit quieter.

the difference it has made is fantastic, turns in so much better and grip seems endless, can push it round bends so much faster then before. will be getting it finished then off for some practice laps at teeside autodrome to see how it goes, I will get some vids

I'd want a fair amount of toe out at the front, slight toe in at the rear, and more negative camber at front than rear...

I'd like it over steery with a slidey rear.

Remember that setting it up for handling will mean it's not going to be particularly good on tyres (if anyone cares about tyres )

I need a car worth setting up

Front wheels toed out = More turn in / over steer

Rear wheels toed in = stability / (possible understeer)

Rear wheels toed out = Over steer lol.

More negative camber = In theory better sideways grip

Though caster affects the camber as wheels are turned - so bare that in mind.

As robin says 'setting up the wheels for best handling' - could mean fucked tyres quickly as it'll be wearing mostly probably on the insides of the tyres.

so more toe in, better handleing ie less understeer

when cars on the four wheel aligner will adjust camber to -1 degree and tracking to 1 degree then

and on the tyres side, just swap tyres left to right!

i thought corsa's were around -1.5degree negative camber from the factory. I have always thought it was too much and had thought about taking the rears down to 1.25 but werent sure about toe settings.

what the fuck...? no.

More toe in on fronts = Understeer.

Infact more toe in on rears = understeer lol.
