Well its official! Max Power Live is cancelled. After months of speculation and rumours the cat is out of the bag and the news is that last Friday it was finally decided that the show would not go on. The joint venture between Haymarket (the show organisers) and EMAP (Max Power’s publisher) has been dissolved along with the partnership between the two companies, though Haymarket are talking about introducing a modified element into their successful Autosport International show which takes place at the same venue (NEC Birmingham) every January. Looks like Donny is now the pinnacle event of the modified calendar."

You got anything to substantiate this information?

Could do with verifying this from an official source.

As mentioned to you earlier and for benefit of rest of forum the score is 1-0 to Haymarket. Its been on the cards for months and months but no-one was willing to say yay or nae until today. It's now the first week in April and no-one has been contacted about trading at the show. F&M for example have been selling stand space since January or before and Ingliston is not a 10th of the size of the NEC. Plus no-one has been asked to put cars forward for the show for the Top 100 and lastly but by no means least. The new look max has LOADS of pages devoted to getting people to log on to their new website but not a single thing about Max Live brings us to the reason for posting - Haymarket stated on the records thats its not happening and that was the official word as of Friday when they had their final meeting about it all.

I dont know the new lad at Max towers but saying "we've not said anything" doesnt mean its on, it just means that camp (EMAP) havent announced anything yet, whereas their ex-partner Haymarket have. Bit like two football teamsc having a match and one saying "no we're not playing so its off" but the other saying "we've not said anything!" - takes two to tango in this instance. And bringing a bit more modified car stuff to Autosport will be good too.

Maybe the venue wasn't big enough? If its to accomodate the Max Power top 100 cars it needs to be fairly big...

Day out? You have to take out a mortgage to afford it, tickets are ridiculous £30? Food is ridiculously priced and the girls all have fannehs like riped out fire places.

Yeah have known about this for a few months now. Didnt look like it was going ahead cos no one was making any money out of it. Trade stands were becoming smaller and smaller...

was a good run 1999-2006 but everyone kinda knew it wouldnt last forever.

quite glad tho.. as it was getting shitter and shitter as the years went on
